Financial planning is having a money guide to help you manage your finances. He or she is a trustworthy guide assisting you as you navigate financial decisions in life. By working with a financial planner, you can gain a better understanding of your financial situation and the steps you need to take to achieve your goals. A financial planner helps you make informed decisions and avoid common financial pitfalls. Financial planning is about educating, empowering, and being an accountability partner for our clients. Below are some examples of the journey we travelled with our clients in supporting them to establish the necessary processes and tools for balancing their behavioural and financial needs, and ultimately their financial goals.
The first example:
A new client came to see us recently. She was contributing substantially monthly to her savings but her contributions were not tax efficient. Collaboratively, we reviewed and made some changes to her debit orders, which resulted in her being able to increase her tax deductions and reduce her tax payable. She is still contributing the same monthly value but paying less tax. Long-term, her savings are now in line with her overall savings and retirement goals.
The second example:
We did a financial plan for a new client who had risk cover in his private capacity, as well as group life with his employer. After re-evaluating his financial plan, it became evident that he was overinsured for risk cover, and that the premium would be better utilized to provide for his retirement.
Deciding whether or not to buy a new home, or move cities or jobs, are some of the decisions we navigate with our clients. Some decisions can impact a client’s finances and we go through the various options with them so they can make an informed decision, understand their options and decide what is the best for them and their family.
Reviewing a client’s underlying unit trusts or their contribution to their tax-free savings account can impact their retirement in such a way that they have more money at retirement. Often, our clients spend the same or less but their financial planning is correctly structured and in line with their needs, goals and objectives.
Wealth creation and wealth protection form the bedrock of financial planning. Our clients build wealth, through working, investing, purchasing assets and investing abroad. At Quintus Wealth, we advise our clients where best to invest and ensure they are protected, in the form of risk cover, trusts and structured investments. It is important for us that our clients have peace of mind, know their investments are growing, and their wealth is protected. Ultimately creating a better financial future for our clients and their families.
We empower our clients to take responsibility for their financial decisions, help them develop and maintain healthy financial habits, and serve as accountability partners throughout the process.
We love finding unique bespoke solutions for our clients and their families. Each family is unique and at Quintus Wealth we design a solution for each client. We do not accept all potential clients who approach us but rather we vet clients to ensure their values are aligned with ours and we can have a long working relationship.
